Kevin Dozier's "Love-Wise" is a lovely, lovely, love-filled listen. Projecting a gentle soul, even a butterfly-fragile one, and with a rhapsodically romantic spirit, his voice is an exceptionally pretty one, and very musical...Kevin projects thoughtful intelligence as he and Marlowe set and sustain a mood, knowing the value of a pause. This album is worth the pause in any day to relish the honeyed and wise Love-Wise."                             ~ Rob Lester, Talkin' Broadway full review

"Dozier fits all of the adjectives.  He is warm, communicative, and polished to a sheen. He sings like a dream and tells cute stories, focusing on the lyrics with musical savvy to back it up. This is a blue-chip, professionally delivered, engaging program by a charming singer.  If there is such a thing as an all-around cabaret guy, he is it."

"Kevin Dozier has a baritone fully stocked with feeling, especially as it lifts into higher-register reaches.  Dozier is worth keeping on your radar for several reasons. There's the voice, of course, but how he deploys the voice is of particular interest."

"Together, Dozier and Marlowe make a formidable musical team...confidence and joy radiate out of Dozier and he's a pleasure to watch.

...it's a testament to Dozier and Marlowe that "Over the Rainbow" is on the of the highlights of the show.  Sensitive and understated, and possessing a rapturously gorgeous arrangement, Dozier's mellifluous reading is astonishing."

"Dozier’s greatest talent is bringing emotion to the words and lyrics. Whether it’s a silly song like “Potato” or a poignant “Before We Say Goodbye,” he captivates. When Kevin Dozier sings, you listen…and you’re glad you did."

"After ten years in San Francisco where he was named ‘Male Cabaret Performer of the Year,’ out singer Kevin Dozier has returned with an auspicious New York debut at Don’t Tell Mama.  Cleaned up, revamped and under new ownership, Don’t Tell Mama is the perfect club for Introducing Kevin Dozier, a show that heralds a singer brimming over with talent, but with an old-fashioned structure that harkens back to glory days of this venerable nightspot.  Smoothly directed by Scott Barnes with gorgeous accompaniment by musical director Christopher Marlowe, Dozier is the kind of humpy Chelsea boy Noel Coward would invite up to tea.  Oh, and he can sing, too!

"Could this be the beginning of something big? The Empire Plush Room booked into the room three new talents.

Kevin Dozier immediately grabbed the audience with a sensational rendition of the song that put Petula Clark on the map, "Downtown". Dozier also mesmerized the audience with the touching "What More Can I Say" from the musical "Falsettos". Dozier also treated us to the delightful "Gimme Gimme (from Thoroughly Modern Millie). Dozier has terrific stage presence. His voice seems sincere - not planned and definitely not plastic. There is warmth there that rolls out over the stage to engulf the audience. Yep, I would say that Dozier is going to Hollywood.

"The glorious form of entertainment known as cabaret was served up in delightful fashion earlier this week, as part of Copia's Monday night concert series.

Comic Jeff Applebaum introduced sensational singer, San Francisco's Kevin Dozier. A young man who'd stepped out of the spotlight to pursue a business career, Dozier is now back where he belongs. His heartwrenching ballad, "Words He Doesn't Say" (penned by Barry Harman, lyrics, and Keith Herrman, music, for an obscure Broadway show, "Romance, Romance") made for watery eyes. This heartfelt lament gave way to a rousing showstopper from the current Broadway production of "Thoroughly Modern Millie" -- "Gimme, Gimme." Dozier is a young man to watch."

"Viva Variety is about to take its final bow, with just one more show scheduled in November. The series, which started in April 1999, has featured over 480 acts. Each queer-friendly show has been a fundraiser for a different charity.

The opening act was winner of the SF Cabaret Competition, Kevin Dozier, a sweet lyric tenor, who gave his last SF performance, as he is moving to New York in a few weeks. He sang "What More Can I Say": "We laugh, we fumble, we take it day by day," with the proper same-sex lyrics of man-to-man romance."

Not singing for 10 years seems not to have hampered vocalist Kevin Dozier, who brought many to tears with a beautiful ballad from "Falsettos". Kevin has a beautiful, natural voice that touches the soul.

Sure to please is Kevin Dozier who was named Male Performer of the Year in the San Francisco Cabaret Competition."
